Bruton O. Smith, CEO, Speedway Motorsports, Inc.:

In February, 1996, I invited representatives from Bristol, Kingsport and
Johnson City to Charlotte so we could visit and discuss my plans for
expansion of Speedway Motorsports' newest acquisition, the Bristol Motor
Speedway.
Talk of the number of hotel rooms available compared with the addition of
thousands of seats quickly ensued. I shared the idea that other speedway
cities may rent private homes as a suggestion to this new challenge for
Bristol.
As you might guess, Sue Ojanen was one of the Bristol representatives at the
meeting. Sue shared with me later how she could not get the idea of renting
private homes out of her mind during the drive back to Bristol. She was
already in the process of selling a business she started in 1991, and when
that was completed, she researched the home rental business and was enrolled
in real estate classes within two weeks. She's a go-getter and I admire
that!
We have had opportunities to visit during Bristol races throughout the last
few years and I am happy to say that Sue runs a tight ship. I couldn't be
more pleased with her work ethic and sense of hospitality.
